"Remote Control Theocracy" oil on paper 9"x12" 2012
Commentary on the subtle overlapping of politics and religion, and how religious groups can and do influence government policy. With a recent move to what is commonly known as "The Bible Belt" from the northeast, I watched as churches fought a, very visible, intense, well funded political battle for state legislation over a cultural issue, and it surprised me to see how much power the pulpit can wield over the ballot box and the legislature.
